The faculty of Swift Institute of Nursing is always promoted to attend In-Service Education progrrams to update their knowledge and polish their teaching and nursing skills.
Two faculty members attended the workshop on Research Methodology organized by Baba Farid University College of Nursing, Faridkot.,from 17th -20th March2010. Dr. Raman Kalia, Director-Principal of Swift Institute of Nursing was invited as a resource person to deliver a lecture on "designing the research Tools" during the workshop.
Two faculty members attended Training of Trainers (TOT) on ART Therapy for HIV /AIDS organized by Indian Nursing Council under the GFATM project ,conducted at RAK College of nursing , Delhi from 22nd -26th March 2010
The faculty members also attended the meeting conducted at Gian Sagar Medical College & Hospital, Ram Nagar, Banur, Distt. Patiala, on the "Gian Sagar Vidhyarthi Sehat Yojna" and "Gian Sagar Health Scheme for Educational Institute". And a Workshop on Biomedical Waste Management.
One of our faculty has also attended the Workshop on "Nursing Students Evaluation" conducted at Fortis School of Nursing, Chandigarh

Swift Institute of Nursing celebrated the International Nurses Week from 12th to 19th May 2009 on the occasion of Florence Nightingale's birthday. The theme for this program was "Delivering Quality: Serving Communities, Nurses lead Innovation Care ". The whole faculty and students jointly participated in this event. They organized Health Education Program on the Prevention of Tuberculosis, HIV- AIDS, and Diabetes & Breast Cancer, in order to create health awareness in the community. On 19th may 2009, a valedictory function was organized, in which the students conducted a Seminar on Swine flue & also performed a Role Play on the topic 'Innovative Care.'

The WHO celebrates various health days world wide, keeping in mind the importance of health. Our students being the most important contributing members of Health Care Team celebrated 1st December as World's AIDS Day" with the need to make the society aware about necessity to remove the Stigma associated with HIV- AIDS. On this occasion, the students organized and participated in Poster making, Slogan writing competitions on HIV-AIDS. They also delivered their views on "Social Stigma about HIV in today's society" via an Eloquition competition.
